The Cliburn, home to one of the world’s premier international piano competitions, has partnered with the National Cowgirl Museum & Hall of Fame (The Cowgirl) for its upcoming Cliburn Family Concerts season—a series of interactive, family-friendly performances that inspire wonder, creativity, and discovery through music.
As part of this year’s lineup, The Cowgirl will host The Legendary Life of Annie Oakley, an engaging musical program celebrating one of the most legendary women of the American West. Two performances will be held, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., on April 3, 2027. Families are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy hands-on activities, arts and crafts, and other interactive experiences before the performance.

Annie Oakley (Phoebe Ann Moses Butler), inducted into the Cowgirl Hall of Fame in 1984), became an international legend in her own lifetime based on her shooting skills. Born into poverty in Ohio, Annie taught herself to shoot to help feed her family. A shooting contest against future husband Frank Butler put her on the road to stardom. In 1885 she joined the Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show as the only female performer. She traveled the globe as the World’s Champion Markswoman, hosting shooting clinics and performing onstage.
The 2026-27 Cliburn Family Concerts season also features an interactive introduction to Beethoven at the Kimbell Art Museum and a festive musical celebration of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas at the Fort Worth Stockyards, bringing classical music to life in some of Fort Worth’s most iconic destinations.

Single-concert tickets are $20 each or $75 for a family four-pack. Season subscriptions are $50 per person or $200 for a family four-pack.
