Old Bags Luncheon that Supports the National Cowgirl Museum Becomes Virtual
The Event Funds go toward the Museum’s Educational Programs

FORT WORTH, TEXAS (Sept. 17, 2020) – Along with the other ways the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame has adapted to COVID-19, like their new touch-free digital tour, the Museum’s Old Bags Luncheon will be launched virtually this year.

Each year, since 2013, the Museum has partnered with designers to create an auction based around gently used designer purses. Labels such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Chanel, Barfield Collection, Burberry, Prada, Valentino, Kate Spade, and more are featured every year, and this year is no different in that respect. Proceeds will go to support the Museum’s educational efforts.

However, this year, the event will be virtual. Premium ticket holders can have the opportunity to preview the bags in person at the Museum on October 18, from noon to 4 p.m. and October 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Bidding for premium ticket holders will be from Sunday, October 18, starting at 9:00 a.m. through Tuesday, October 20 at 7:00 p.m. Anyone who would like to preview the bags and be part of early bidding, may make a donation of $125 to the Museum. To make a donation for early bidding, contact Emmy Lou Prescott at 817-509-8965.

On Wednesday, October 21, beginning at 9:00 a.m., bidding will open to the general public and continue through Friday, October 23 at 7:00 p.m.

The Museum’s director of development, Emmy Lou Prescott, said, “I am excited to see how our event will transition online. We have some fantastic opportunities for people to purchase bags at a fraction of their typical cost – and all the proceeds go to a good cause: The Museum’s education department. This will allow the Museum to continue to think of creative ways to reach our audience during the virus pandemic.”
