Happy Hour Gallery Tour with Howell-Sickles on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019
FORT WORTH, TEXAS (July 11, 2019) – Join us for a happy hour gallery talk with Cowgirl Honoree Donna Howell-Sickles and view her exhibition, The Trail of the Cowgirl, on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Howell-Sickles will be directing a presentation and gallery talk, and encouraging guests to explore her paintings beyond the surface.
Meet and learn from Howell-Sickles, while enjoying light snacks and refreshments. Attendees will be entered in a Donna Howell-Sickles product giveaway.
This event is free and open to the public. Check-in is 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., and the gallery discussion will begin at 6 p.m.
Donna Howell-Sickles, a western artist from Saint Jo, Texas, was inducted into the Cowgirl Hall of Fame in 2007 for her artistic work and the ability to take the image and idea of the cowgirl beyond charcoal lines and into reality.
“My artwork reflects my admiration for the strong Western women of both past and present,” said Howell-Sickles. “Stories worthy of telling about the beauty, depth and joy of living with an appreciation of the hopes and struggles we share.”
She has exhibited her art in the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale, National Museum of Wildfire Art and more.
The Trail of the Cowgirl exhibition premiered in the Anne W. Marion Gallery of the National Cowgirl Museum at the opening of the new Kit Moncrief Galleries and will be on exhibit until September 2019.
