Margaret Pease Harper

Margaret founded the Texas Panhandle Heritage Foundation and was the driving force behind the creation of the musical drama, Texas, performed each year against the backdrop of Palo Duro Canyon. A Minnesota native, she came to Texas by way of teaching assignments in Arizona and Peru. This teacher-turned-author and playwright also co-founded the Lone Star Ballet. Margaret maintained that the arts are an important part of society and should be shared by everyone.
