Agnes’ childhood memories of her parents’ stage-line stop, combined with her degrees in English and history, led her to author more than twenty books, over 600 feature articles and fiction stories, a play, and countless shorter articles in professional journals about the West. The only person to be the official historian of two states, Colorado and Wyoming, she worked in the suffrage movement, trained to be a topographical draftsman and served as director of the Federal Writers’ Project.
