Cowgirl LEAD – Iron Horse Farms

Gallop Into Leadership Excellence with the National Cowgirl Museum & Hall of Fame’s Cowgirl LEAD

The National Cowgirl Museum & Hall of Fame expands its program offerings with unique cowgirl-focused experiences to connect women and horses.

FORT WORTH, TEXAS (February 26, 2024) – The National Cowgirl Museum & Hall of Fame in Fort Worth has long been a hallmark of cowgirl tradition, honoring women who have shaped the West through courage, resilience, and independence. Now, the Museum seeks to connect more women to its mission through one of the most recognizable partners of the cowgirl – the horse.

“Nothing brings out the inner characteristics of the cowgirl like a horse,” said Diana Vela, PhD,  Associate Executive Director for the National Cowgirl Museum & Hall of Fame. “Cowgirl LEAD will offer women the chance to grow their communication and leadership skills with the help of horses, some of the most honest and responsive partners you can find.”

Drawing inspiration from the horse, this transformative program will ignite your leadership potential by blending wisdom from the natural behaviors of the horse with cutting edge leadership principles. This two-and-a-half-day program is designed for current and aspiring women leaders. The first Cowgirl LEAD will focus on aspects of leadership, communication, and problem solving. Clinicians and National Cowgirl Museum & Hall of Fame Honorees Dr. Eleanor Green and RADM (ret.) Christina Alvarado Shanahan will bring their extensive leadership skills to the stable, using hands-on activities with the horse to model and practice effective communication and leadership principles.

“Cowgirl LEAD is a must for anyone who is interested in growing their leadership and communication skills in the most fun, high impact setting possible,” said Green. “You’ll leave this experience empowered to command respect, communicate effectively, and step into your leadership role with confidence!”

Cowgirl LEAD will be hosted April 5-7 at Iron Horse Farms near Weatherford, TX, and will be limited to 10 participants. In addition to high-quality group learning, attendees will enjoy camaraderie over meals and activities, hands-on learning with horses (no experience necessary), takeaway seminar materials, and more!
