Event Details

The Rebozo Potosino exhibition is a collaborative among the San Luis Potosi Secretary of Economic Development, the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, and the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame. The items on display are on loan from the Artisan Development Office and the Rebozo School, a retraining program to protect the weaving tradition dating back to the 15th Century and support its commercialization worldwide.

The exhibit underscores the critical and visible role that women played in the Mexican Revolution and the celebration of the Rebozo as a traditional accessory that also typified women leaders in the culture and history of Mexico. This initiative is part of a statewide effort to celebrate the contributions and presence of more than almost one million Potosinos in Texas.

See this exhibit in person at the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame Jan. 14-Feb. 26, 2017.
