Paula

Paula Willis Jones

Paula realized her artistic talent after achieving a successful career in education.  She received informal art training through her mother. Then she attended the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts in Connecticut.  She sold many pieces in home-turned-gallery exhibits in Connecticut, and her professional career began.  She moved to Oklahoma in 1994 and her work has appeared in Martha Stewart Living magazine, “Martha Stewart Living” television show, Southwest Art and numerous newspapers and publications. Exhibitions include her recent two-man show at JRB Art at the Elms and one-man show at the Oklahoma state capitol.  She has done portraits for the current and previous governors of Oklahoma.  Her work is drawn from her Oklahoma surroundings where she finds fresh ways to present traditional Western themes.
