My paintings are personal interpretations; an attempt to capture the character and mood based on my experiences with that subject. Translating my passions and experiences into art is exciting work!”
Julie is fascinated by a wide variety of subjects. While continuing to paint her favorites of the West, she finds it exciting and refreshing to expand into new areas through travel and on location work. Location work includes trips across Africa and Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
Her paintings have appeared in National Shows throughout the West and Midwest, including the C.M. Russell Auction, Midwest Watercolor Society, Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale, Cody, Wyoming, the National Western-Coors Western Show and Sale, Denver, CO. Her work is also in the permanent collection of the Buffalo Bill Historical Center.
Born and raised in rural Montana, Julie’s love of the outdoors developed early and still runs strong. She grew up in a family actively enjoying the best Montana had to offer—fishing, riding, backpacking and trips to Yellowstone National Park. From an early age, her interest in art and talent was encouraged. Talent and enthusiasm for the outdoors and animals were a natural combination. Today, Julie resides and works from her studio at Cody, WY.
