Artist Application

Requirements and Eligibility

  • To be eligible for consideration, application materials must be received no later than December 31, 2009.
  • Applicants must send three to five high resolution (at least 300dpi) images on a CD to be considered by the jury.  The jury considers each artist, not each work of art, so please send work that is indicative of your style, but they do not have to be the specific works you would put in the Heart of the West Exhibition if you are chosen.
  • The application fee is $25.00 which should be included with the CD.  It is non-refundable.  Please make payable to: National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame.
  • Mediums to be considered include: watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastel, mixed-media, and bronze.
  • Notification of acceptance will be sent out by March 1, 2010.
  • Entries must be original.
  • If you are accepted into the Heart of the West Art Exhibition and Sale, digital images of the artwork that will be in the show must arrive at the Museum no later than August 1, 2010Please understand that the early due date allows us sufficient time to produce and send out a catalog to prospective buyers.
  • Two dimensional works must arrive at the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame framed with D-rings or wires.
  • Dates for the 2010 The Heart of the West Exhibition  and sale are pending.
  • All artwork must remain on exhibit during the Heart of the West Exhibition and Sale.

Delivery and Return of Work

  • Artwork will be shipped to the Museum at the artist’s expense; if the work does not sell, it will be returned to the artist at the Museum’s expense.  The Museum will accommodate all reasonable shipping requests.
  • All artwork should be shipped in appropriate containers that can be reused for the return to the artist or shipment to the buyer.

Sales

  • The Heart of the West Exhibition and Sale is a fundraiser for the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame.
  • 25% of the selling price goes to the museum.
