Patsy Cline

(1932-1963)

Year Inducted: 1994

The first woman inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, Patsy had a voice and singing style that remains an influence on the music world. Inspired to learn to sing and dance by a Shirley Temple movie, Patsy made her radio debut at 10 and received national attention when she appeared on the Arthur Godfrey show singing "Walking After Midnight." Her short but stellar career ended in a 1963 plane crash.
