Dora Waldrop

(1911-2003)

Year Inducted: 1979

From the time she went to work on horseback when she was three bringing in milkcows to competing in barrel racing at 76, Dora was a standout Texas horsewoman who consistently won on the horses she trained. A fierce promoter for barrel racing, she was the first to convince Texas Panhandle rodeos to include girls barrel racing as an event.
