Angie set out to be a history teacher. Growing up in the Oklahoma frontier, she was a child who loved books and learning. Her dreams of teaching college history were blocked by a discrimination by most colleges against hiring women. She turned to writing about history as an alternate avenue. Priding herself on unyielding accuracy, her historical publications garnered her national acclaim, earning her the title, "First Lady of Oklahoma History."
