Rose was a professional trick roper, trick rider and movie actress. Known as the "Queen of the Trick Ropers," she learned to ride and rope from Pearl Elder and, after marrying Weldon Bascom, spent thirteen years performing at rodeos. Her act took her to Hollywood where she performed on stage and in movies. She toured the world with USO shows. Her fluorescent trick roping act was billed as "The Most Beautiful Stage Performance in the World."
