Handbook of the West Scavenger Hunt

Aug. 1 - 31, 2014

Come learn about the West through our Handbook of the West scavenger hunt! You will tour the Cowgirl Museum, the Amon Carter Museum, Fort Worth Public Art, the Sid Richardson Museum, and the Fort Worth Stockyards while learning about faces and places of the West located right here in Fort Worth!

The Handbook is an adventure intended for elementary school students and their families. Once it’s been completed, bring it back to the Cowgirl Museum to collect a prize. To receive the prize, each participant must purchase and complete his or her own Handbook of the West booklet.  No charge on parking during return trip to claim prize.

Members: $5.00 for each Handbook
Non-members: $13.00 for Child Handbook and admission; $5.00 for Adult admission

Join the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame as we learn about America’s wild horses during Camp Wildfire on September 20, 2014. Funded through a grant from the Mustang Heritage Foundation (MHF) in cooperation with the Bureau of Land Management, youth ages 8-18 are invited to take part in activities that center on the stewardship of the land and protection of the wild horse.

The program will feature activities at the Museum and opportunities to learn from professionals involved in the Mustang Million at the Will Rogers Memorial Equestrian Center. Each camp participant will receive a t-shirt, backpack and other souvenirs, as well as tickets to the final evening performance of the Extreme Mustang Makeover.
